Celebrating 2018

THE CHICAGO Medical Society capped off the year on a celebratory note.

In what was surely one of our most memorable meetings, we honored distinguished legislators during a night of awards, keynote addresses, and policymaking. You can read about this action-filled event in the back section of the magazine.

Separately, we also hosted our annual Holiday Reception. Nearly 150 came to enjoy an evening of warm fellowship. We had delectable hors’ d’oeuvres and drinks to carry us into the next year.

As in the past, the gathering took place at the venerable Standard Club of Chicago.

The Holiday Reception allows us to thank our members, partners, and friends of medicine. It also provides a warm welcome to our organization. If you weren’t able to join us, let me emphasize here how much CMS appreciates your being part of our physician community. And how much we value your support. I am also very grateful for the trust you have placed in me as your president.

The new year is looking bright, thanks to programs CMS will be rolling out in 2019. I’m especially excited about an entirely new membership platform designed for today’s physicians.

Here at CMS, we are constantly monitoring and adapting to the evolving healthcare delivery system. The political winds took an abrupt shift this past year. Yet the Chicago Medical Society stayed on course.

We also are always working hard to serve your professional needs.

On that note, I’m happy to report the recent addition of 122 new Chicago Medical Society members. So, please join us in celebrating this recruitment success.

As 2019 unfolds, CMS will be educating the physician community about benefits, services, and opportunities through our organization.
